Fighting Hunger with Dignity
Haiti
In the rural communities of Gouin and Sainte-Hélène in southern Haiti, farming families own land but often lack the resources to plant, raise healthy livestock, or earn enough to meet basic needs. Through Haiti Reborn, Quixote Center and DCCH are helping 100 families increase food production, strengthen household income, and build lasting self-reliance.
Farmers receive training in sustainable agriculture, livestock care, and business practices, while women gain access to community savings groups. Tree seedlings and animals are provided through a community loan model: participating families pass along the first offspring and new seedlings to other families, allowing the impact to grow from household to household.
